Singapore Post Offers Personalised Stamps For Valentine’s Day

Looking for something special to send your loved ones for Valentine’s Day?

How about a personalised stamp with your photo on it.

Singapore Post’s customised stamp printing service will allow you to do so.

Using SingPost’s MyStamp service, customers are able to use their favourite photos to design their own sheet of stamps.

These stamps can be kept as souvenirs or simply as a personalised addition to letters or gifts sent locally or overseas.

One person who has made use of SingPost’s MyStamp service is Lim Shu Hui.

Shu Hui will be spending her Valentine’s Day away from her boyfriend who is in Australia.

Despite this, she still intends to keep the occasion special, by adorning his postal gift with a stamp that has her photo on it.

Shu Hui said: “It’s a bit more unique. Basically you have your own picture on there, something that catches the eye when you receive your letter. Also, nowadays we don’t really receive letters from post anymore. It’s usually through emails.”

After receiving good response last Christmas, the MyStamp service is back by popular demand for Valentine’s Day.

Catherine Png, Singapore Post’s assistant vice president (philatelic & stamps), said: “It’s a sweet gesture and it’s very appropriate because after all, stamps are visual records of what’s important to the country and in this case it’s a visual record of our own story as told from photographs. So definitely this will encourage people, especially our younger people, to send more letters.”

Customers have until the end of this month to personalise their own stamps at several on-the-spot MyStamp booths at Singapore post offices around the island. - CNA/ir
